Agricultural Steel Buildings for Farm Storage and Production

Steel Agricultural Buildings

Farm sheds planned by span, ventilation and moisture, not by reusing a dry-warehouse coating as the only system.

Farm steel is used for feed stores, machinery sheds and production rooms. They look like warehouses, but wash-down and gases can change the coating and cladding. Span alone is not enough.

State use, size, whether the house is sealed, washed, or has pads or pits. Describe seasonal use if insulation is needed. Without exposure notes the reply assumes a dry interior.

The shop fabricates; local civil works build foundations. Thickness and coat count are not a single standard before approval.

This page only contrasts farm rooms with a dry store. Materials follow the later schedule.

Tiankai Southeast fabricates marked members from approved drawings and supports erection by mark number. Sizes, loads and delivery follow the confirmed design file and contract; this page does not turn uncalculated tonnage, thickness or time into a promise.

FAQ

  • How is surface protection done?

Blasting and coating are done per job: typical shop primer, intermediate and finish coats, or hot-dip galvanizing when specified. Tell us the environment (indoor, coastal, chemical, etc.) and design life so film thickness or zinc coating can be set. Appearance and thickness are checked before dispatch.

  • How do you choose sandwich panel thickness?

Roof and wall sandwich panel thickness depends on insulation, fire rating and local climate, not price alone. First define indoor temperature, humidity, fire needs and wind or snow load, then select profile, core and thickness. Final sizes follow the agreed material schedule.

  • Who is responsible for foundations and embedments?

The steel frame is usually fabricated in the plant and erected on site. Foundations, concrete and embedments are typically done by a local civil contractor. We can issue base-plate sizes, anchor layouts and embedment notes. The contract scope defines the interface.

  • How are wind and snow loads decided?

Wind and snow loads follow the project location, the local code and the owner design brief. There is no single default number. Please provide site, basic wind pressure, snow load, seismic data and roof live load. A first estimate can use the stated building use; fabrication follows approved drawings only.

  • What is the typical lead time?

Lead time depends on drawing freeze, tonnage, coating and the production slot. After drawings are locked, standard jobs ship in agreed batches. Rush orders can be reviewed, but they do not override confirmed contracts. The schedule is confirmed in writing with the quotation.
